Bolzano, Sterzing, the Dolomites & Lake Garda
From the Passeiertal Valley, you can easily explore Bolzano, South Tyrol’s capital and a historic trading town where Alpine and Mediterranean cultures meet.
Discover its magnificent Gothic cathedral, the picturesque fruit market and the lively Walther Square, with the dramatic peaks of the legendary Rosengarten mountains rising in the distance.
Bolzano is also home to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, where you can meet Ötzi, the famous 5,300-year-old Iceman. Another fascinating attraction is the Messner Mountain Museum Firmian, housed in Sigmundskron Castle.
The charming medieval town of Sterzing (Vipiteno), with its colourful buildings and historic streets, is also well worth a visit.
Our weekly programme includes a variety of day trips to the spectacular Dolomites and other destinations in northern Italy.
A trip to Lake Garda is another wonderful experience. Surrounded by olive groves, dramatic limestone cliffs, elegant cypress trees and fragrant pines, Italy’s largest lake offers a taste of Mediterranean charm against a stunning mountain backdrop.
